Thomas Strawn joined Arborilogical Services in 2021. He is a Dallas native who, following high school, spent multiple years in various education and service-related capacities in northern Mexico where he became fluent in Spanish as well as discovered a love for teaching and explaining concepts to others. Upon returning to Texas, he relocated to the Texarkana area in East Texas where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Texas A&M- Texarkana.
Following graduation, Thomas worked to share his love of the natural world by teaching Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Biology courses at the high school level. During this time, he completed a Master of Arts in Science Education and was even named District Secondary Teacher of the Year. After deciding that the time was right to move out of education and into a more hands-on application of his passions, Thomas completed a Master of Science degree in Environmental Geoscience through Mississippi State University and relocated with his family back to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to serve the community by caring for the urban trees of North Texas. He and his wife are hiking and nature enthusiasts, love spending time exploring with their two daughters, and train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu together in the evenings and weekends, having competed in multiple local events and tournaments over the past several years.
In addition to being an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist, Thomas has also earned the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) and Texas Oak Wilt Qualification so that he can better serve his clients.
